Default 20 Minutes or Less Supper Recipes

I guess I'll start us off.

You will need:

1lb hamburger meat
1 can of soup (your choice)
Noodles (your choice)
Grated Cheddar Cheese (optional)

Make the soup. Brown the hamburger meat. Cook the noodles. Throw it all together and top it with the cheddar cheese.

This seems to be Isis' new favorite meal. And you can change the soup to make it different tastes and flavors.

Never thought to try that with soup. I always make it like that but with spaghetti sauce, one of the hubby's favs!

Soup though.......

This is kinda like Lizzy's, and my kids love it.

1 lb. ground beef, browned

1 can of cream of musroom or tomato soup

1 box of Kraft Dinner prepared

Mix it all together and then Top with cheese slices or grated cheese, bake at 300 degrees, till the cheese melts.

(you can add diced tomatoes, or veggies if you like)

4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.)

4 tsp. taco seasoning mix

2 cups thinly sliced peeled potatoes

1 cup Kraft Tex Mex Shredded Cheese

1/2 cup salsa

1/4 cup sour cream

PREHEAT oven to 400F. Coat chicken with seasoning mix. Layer 1/4 each of the potatoes, chicken, cheese and salsa in centre of each of 4 (15-inch square) sheets of heavy-duty foil.

BRING up foil sides. Double fold top and ends to seal packet, leaving room for heat circulation inside. Place in single layer in 15x10x1-inch baking pan.

BAKE 15 min. or until chicken is cooked through and potatoes are tender. Remove from oven. Let stand 5 min. Place 1 packet on each of 4 dinner plates. Unwrap packet; top each serving with 1 Tbsp. of the sour cream

Salsa Shrimp

4 plum tomatoes
1/2 pound medium size shrimp (bay scallops or chicken cut in chunks is good too)
1/3 cup of salsa (hot, medium or mild, depending on preference)
1 teaspoon of chili spice
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of cumin (not required, but it's nice to have)
3 medium onions or one large red onion
1/2 cup pre-cooked rice

Cut onion in half and slice in half 'rings'. Cut tomatoes up into 1/2" chunks. Thaw shrimp in a collandar under cool water (if required). Brown onions in a frying pan, add shrimp and spices. Fry for about 2 minutes. Add rice, tomatoes and salsa. Cook another 5 minutes or till shrimp is fully cooked, serve in bowls.

Takes about 15-20 minutes and serves 2 - double the recipe for 4.

This is a very healthy meal and you can make endless variations on this recipe - it's hard to go wrong!

Marinate some fast fry steaks in garlic, bay leaf, wine or beer and salt and pepper (night before or morning)

make rice or pasta

cook the steaks while the pasta or rice is cooking.

for veggies put peas/corn/carrots in your pasta
make a salad, cut up tomatoes and cukes

when steaks are done deglaze pan with a bit of the left over marinade bring to a boil add a bit of water and a dot of butter (or olive oil) and you have a great sauce...yummy!

If you are organised and can peel potatoes ahead of time. I do it in the morning and have it sitting on the stove in water. When I come home all I do is turn on the stove and potatoes are started. Mashed potatoes are especially good with this meal.

Make extra fast fry, stick it in a bun and you have lunch the next day!

Here is another one of my favs...

Tuna pasta:

start pasta (linguine is best for this)

in another large pan brown onion and garlic add carrots
season with S&P and rosemary and bay leaf (a touch of oregano if you want)
Add tomato paste...let it cook until you can really smell the rosemary and the other flavours
deglaze with red wine bring to a boil
add tomatoes and peas, bring to a boil
Add tuna just to warm through

By this time your pasta should be perfect...Add it to the tuna sauce stir and let stand for a few mintues without heat (enough time to set the table)

Ready to eat!

PS You can also make this with chicken breast but if you are cooking the chicken do it at the beginning with the onions/garlic/carrot it will take a bit longer

Do as above if the chicken is pre-cooked

Variation: make the tuna (or chicken) sauce and serve over a bed of rice also excellent

Here is a super duper quickie!!! You can modify all of the ingredients for family size or choice of flavour. Here's the one I just made:

2 pkgs. Butter & Herb Lipton Sidekicks
2 sm. steaks with steak spice rubbed in
2 cups mixed vegetables (cauliflour, broccoli, carrots)

Cut up steak into bite size pieces and fry in a hot pan with some olive oil. Meanwhile, cook the Sidekicks and veggies in seperate pots. When it's all done, drain veggies and mix everything together. I served it with garlic bread.

You can also use Garlic & Herb Sidekicks with chicken instead of steak... anything you want really. All done in way less then 20 minutes.

A friend told me I had to try this. OMG! I love her for it.

Get a box of KD and a box of Beef-a-roni. Prepare each as the directions state. Then, mix them together and throw them on a plate. Absolutely delicious! Great with a side salad.

Judas Priest and the kids love this one:

Quick and easy Beef Stroganoff

1 pound of ground beef
1 can of mushroom soup
half a container of sour cream
half an envelope of onion soup mix
noodles (usually egg noodles but we use fusilli because egg noodles are high in fat)

Cook the ground beef and noodles. Mix them together when done. Add the mushroom soup, sour cream and onion soup. Leave it on minimum for a few minutes and VOILA! Beef stroganoff.

The individual packages didn't work so well for me so I made it in a lasagna pan... cooked it until it was done (covered) then I added more cheese on top and left the cover off... threw it back in the over for 5 more minutes until the cheese was melted and it was YUMMY!

Thanks for the recipe!
