USB adapter

A friend of mine bought a USB to a 9 pin com port cable. He has Vista on his machine. The disk that came with the adaper is for XP. It will not recognize it properlly, can't send data over it? Does anyone know if there is a vista USB driver out there for this or another way around this? I am sure a few peeps have run into this problem already [img]/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img]

I have always had mixed results using usb adapters for pretty much everything short of a mouse/keyboard. I find then generally unreliable and more trouble than they are worth. The best suggestion I could give is to check with the manufacturer of the device you're trying to connect and see if they have any suggestions on getting things connected.
