I know someone who has one and it works great. He's been able to burn over 35 Wii game ISO's onto any DVD-R and they've all worked 100%. Chip has stealth mode and console still goes online for system updates, Wii shop channel ect..

You can even copy games from original disk to backup disk, or copy a backup disk to a blank disk. He had Super Mario Galaxy burnt and beaten 2 weeks before it was relesased.

Pretty much every chip for the Wii does that. I've got the Wiikey 1.9g and had Mario Galaxy beaten about 2 weeks before release, as did tens of thousands of other people. I've got 52 Wii games game, and 46 GameCube games thanks to the chip.

I had mine done locally, $60 including the chip & installation, and a installation guarantee... 100% working or new system and chip.

I bought a chip in Toronto, and ordered the other one from a website, Divineo I think, came with a tri-wing screwdriver. The second one was bought cause the online order went out of stock.

If your Wii qualifies for the Wiikey, I say good deal, about $40 chip and after the install just download an ISO of a NTSC Wii game and burn on a DVD-R @ 2x speed preferably.

If your Wii is newer, chip is a tad more and takes quite a bit more to install, about 5 times the solders.

Killswitch did my soldering, perfect job, could have been a doctor with those hands...lol.

You need to know the serial number, there is a database. Mostly newer ones though will require a DC2key, a very good solderer and an hour or two (disassembly/reassembly inclusive).

They are about $50 shipped on a few CAN websites. As for who to install it, there is one in here who has the abilities, I can only be useful in helping you with software...
