I am eventually looking at modding my Wii but with new Wii's constantly out of stock, I dont want the risk of my Wii being bricked

I have a wiikey sitting here on my desk. Without the tri-wing screwdriver I can't get in to mod it. If anyone knows someone that installs these, let me know.

I have the older wii system and the wiikey to fit sitting right here.

a the famous tri wing screw. heres what ive done to get around that. light the end of a pen on fire, not a huge fire but enough to keep it hot for a minute or so, quickly jam the hot pen end into the screw top and let it cool there, and voila you have a screw driver for it. nintendo has been using that tri wing screw setup since the original NES. ive done this for every nintendo system ive had that ive either modded, fixed or was curious what made it tick. also it does look like a crack pipe or so im told.

Okay thanks, let me know. I could install it myself, but without the screwdriver I might as well just have someone else do it.

I tried to install my own.. lol.. bought all the stuff I needed, had part of it soldered on, then one minor slip. Burned a hole in the circuit board hahaah.

Had to take it to a "pro" store in Hamilton to have it fixed using wires.

    Costs

    Wiikey 19.95
    Triwing Screwdriver 8.00
    Soldering Iron 10.00
    Repair job 40.00

Cost to have it done by someone else including Wiikey = 50.
