good meds!?!
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
that's a tough one cause they don't usually want you taking meds before going. Find something that calms you like music or something, or bring a friend or family member to help talk you through.
well at least i got a good cleaning done
Make sure you have a good dentist.
my gums were bleeding profusely today, but my teeth were fine.
THey wouldn't bleed if you brushed then on a regular basis!
whats with the stupid questions anyway?

ran out of intelligent ones
Drink beer all day before going to dentist ... i suppose.
I used to have panic attacks before going to the dentist, until I found a good one that I was comfortable with. Before that, I just sucked it up and went. LOL
I rake a sedative before going to the dentist I need someone to drive me there and back.... the meds usually make me feel very dizzy Im very loop about 30 minutes after taking them. No one ever told me not to take them before going and they encourage me to because of my high anxiety.

It is fine to take an anxiety medication before going to the dentist. My doctor would tell me to do it all the time. Also my dentist. I guess it's better to go drudged up then not at all.
Dogs Have Owners ~ Cats Have Staff
When I had my first actual dental work done (wisdom tooth extraction when I was 24 - never had a filling even by then) the oral surgeon prescribed Ativan for me to take right before it. So I am guessing it is okay to take something. Like Tippi said, it is better to go drugged up than not at all. I like having my teeth. But I have not had to take anything since then to go and see the dentist. My kids and I love him and he makes me feel at ease. I know many people who are a nervous wreck for days before an appointment and figure that anything that helps is worth it to make sure you get the dental work done that is needed!
i remember going to the dentist to get all my wisdom teeth out at the same time.
after i was done, i went to The Vic for a couple.....Whoooo Hoooo...man you get drunk quick.
anyways, the alcohol musta done something cuz i had a locked jaw for about 2 months.....had to physically force my mouth open & that hurt!
How Bout Them Cowgirls?
Last week I told my dentist, "I keep thinking about suicide." He told me from now on I have to pay in advance.
I tell you, with my dentist, I don't get no respect. I told him, "I've swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills." He told me to have a few drinks and get some rest.
