    1/4 c Butter
    1/2 c Corn syrup
    1/2 c Brown sugar; packed
    1/2 c Raisins; or currants
    1/2 ts Vanilla
    12 Tart shells
    1 Egg

In bowl, cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat in egg and corn syrup. Spoon raisins into tart shells; pour in the filling, two-thirds full. Bake in 375F oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned.

That's the recipe I use too, and I make countless dozens of butter tarts for Christmas. I make the sauce, let it cool down a little, and then put it into a squeeze bottle, for easier tart-shell filling. I make the little wee two-bite tarts. The squeeze bottle makes filling them very efficient and tidy.

I made butter tarts last week and my shells got stuck in the pans. My mother who makes butter tarts all the time and sells them to her friends told me not to grease the pan because the dough has enough grease in it already. I didn't realize that. Just a tip in case you needed one. My mother has an easy recipe for butter tarts with no corn syrup though. The one I made had corn syrup and they were mmmarrvelous!

Does anyone have the buttertart recipe from the older bottles of Beehive Corn Syrup? I had it, but must have lost it in our move.

    Thank you.
