Garforth, who was told in December that Borealis would not proceed due to a lack of submitted documents to the City Planning Department - approached Sault Michigan politicians with the idea of building a similar development on the I-500 property. Last month, Sault Michigan and Garforth entered into an agreement in principle to construct a 70 million dollar attraction there.So far, no new information has been made available only that Garforth said it would be built by next year.

The Gateway Committee is planning to provide a report to council on March 17th with a package that will include information for potential developers for the 15 acre waterfront site.
The on-going search for the right development on the gateway site near the Sault Ste. Marie Casino is now in it's second decade
