Garforth, who was told in December that Borealis would not proceed due to a lack of submitted documents to the City Planning Department - approached Sault Michigan politicians with the idea of building a similar development on the I-500 property. Last month, Sault Michigan and Garforth entered into an agreement in principle to construct a 70 million dollar attraction there.So far, no new information has been made available only that Garforth said it would be built by next year.

The Gateway Committee is planning to provide a report to council on March 17th with a package that will include information for potential developers for the 15 acre waterfront site.

The on-going search for the right development on the gateway site near the Sault Ste. Marie Casino is now in it's second decade

The whole thing is humorous, the city cries that something big has to go there to attract the tourists when they get off the bridge. Then they make a truck route that takes these tourists away from the site.

LOL, Are you really that dense or are you just pretending to be? the last time I drove down carmens way it didn't lead me to the gateway site, but Bay Street did. My goodness you should really think about what you mean to say before you type it out.

Millie are you talking about yourself being naturally stupid? If your so smart, i'd like you to explain how you tink Carmen's way takes tourists away from that site, especially since it leads to the west end, where there are no hotels for the tourists to be staying at. Most of our so called tourist attractions are downtown and the hotels / motels are either downtown, great northern road or the east end. last time I checked, Bay street is the only street that fronts the gateway property, and it leads tourists into downtown, the opposite direction that carmen's way does. Your statement made absolutely no sense at all.

and unless they're going west they won't be on carmens way. And if they ARE going west then I'm sure a detour down baystreet would make about as much sense as 2 blind guys having a staring contest

actually most people watch for a truck route to get through a strange city knowing this is the fastest way. Next time you come across ask the guy at customs the fastest and easiest way through town going east and he'll tell you to go down Carmin's way.
