Really? That's it? That sure sounds easy enough. Mmmmm....homemade perogies...*drools*
I am not merely a mass of molecules, incoherently careening through time and space. I am a child of God, destined for another world, a world before which this one pales in significance. Our spiritual preparation for the next world is to be the priority of this life.

Buy them at the church on St Georges...good...easy..reasonably priced...and not the pain in the rearend that is making them at home.
You can't make them for less than what you can buy them for there!
Trust me...I made a billion with Baba and Gigi...too much work for the short time on the lips!!
...and NO flour mess to clean up!

    Hey..those were pyrohy..not perogies...
I never got kicked out...cause I could lift the 50lb bag of flour...they couldn't do it.

Gig always had the kitchen control when it came to making the pyrohy, the pickles, wrapping up the dill...Oh my...what a production!

    Good times..good eats though!

holipchi....that was a whole other day...
they had to be sooooo small.

My fave memory was that we always had to ride out to airport road to get spring water for the pickles...made them taste better apparently.

I am in a world stock piled full of Uker-RaNianS now (Winnipeg) ...they are all cracked. Everything has to take longer to taste better. Christmas with some new Uk's...should be interesting this year.
    Yikes.

Omg all my aunts had to make the pickles with spring water haha that is so funny ... til this day if my mom made pickles she would need spring water.

my mom usually made the hopilchi the week before and just froze them. My mom was the same way with making them small...sure you weren't related to me somehow sounds like the families did the same things hahaha

Christmas morning she got up at the crack of dawn to make the perogies

Not likely related....just the culture I am sure.
I miss those cripsy dills though....
I never got up at dawn on Christmas to make pyrohy...but I did see it coming many days at 5 am....when we had to be there to make them.
Guess what breakfast was that day...fresh pyrohy and keilbasa.
Arteries are still trying to recover...

    Good times....
