Default Continuing Saga of a Digicam Purchase

I returned the Kodak z612 back to the store. Every shot I took had a blurry right hand side. I am sure the CCD sensor was off in that camera.

I was not too happy with getting another. I walked into the store with my mind set on getting the Canon S3 IS; however, I walked away with a completely different camera, one that I had not bothered to read any reviews. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC H5 felt right in the hand, had a much better user interface, and looked awesome. The Canon had a very poor resolution and small LCD and the EVF had such poor resolution that I could not define people at the other end of the store. If I could not clearly see the people, how could I possibly see birds in a forest?

Here are a few shots using the Sony.

Much better then the Kodak, even without the problem with the sensor.

I am very happy with this small walk around camera.

I've tried the H5 and it's quite good, comparable to the S3 IS. Good choice.

WoW...what a difference compared to the shots you took with the Kodak. These pics are so "sharp!"

Looking forward to more from you with your new toy!

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, there is a huge difference in photo quality between the Kodak and the Sony. I still feel I got a real bad example of the Kodak though.
