Default UNBELIEVABLE MATH PROBLEM

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.

1. Grab a calculator. (You won't be able to do this one in your
head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer?

If you do it right then it'll be your phone number that is the final answer

Oh, I did it again. It was correct. I missed this step :
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.

I know why it works. It is quite simple.

You could take step 4 and step 8 out and it would still work. Step 8 is there only to cancel out step 4. With those 2 gone combine step 3 and five. All you are doing is multiplying the first 3 digits by 20,000. This leaves 2 times the first 3 digits plus four zeros. Then you combine steps 6 and 7. You are adding twice the last 4 digits to the entire #. This leaves you with exactly twice the value of your phone #. Divide by 2 and you get your phone #.

Here's the equation:

x = The first 3 digits of your phone #
y = The last 4 digits of your phone #
z = The answer

Step 1 [250(80x+1)+y+y-250]/2 = z

Step 2 [250(80x+1)+2y-250]/2 = z

Step 3 [20,000x+250+2y-250]/2 = z

Step 4 10,000x+125+y-125 = z

Step 5 10,000x + y = z

Plug in the numbers and you're all set!!!
