Thread: Question regarding rental charges

    Default Question regarding rental charges

This may be a silly question, but I thought someone here might know. Is there somewhere/someone to ask about how much you should charge to rent a house? We are looking into renting out our house while we are out of town for the next few years, and are not sure how to go about setting up a price since it obviously depends on a number of things. It might be as simple as calling a real-estate agent, but I don't know if that's appropriate or not. Any feedback from someone who is more familiar with the situation would be much appreciated!

It depends on if your selling it or renting it. Usually it depends on the number of bedrooms. The more bedrooms you have the more you can charge. Roughly $750 for a 3 bedroom and drops around a hundred for a 2 bed and drops another hundred for a 1 bed. Depends on the location as well. If anything comes with it. Do you allow pets, smoking? Look at newspaper listings to see if there is anything out there like your place and see what there asking. Some people are asking a lot more then $750 for a 3 bedroom. Going over $1000 is way to much but you can probably go up a couple hundred depending on how nice and well taken cared of your home has been. Hope this helps a little.

get a management firm to look after it because if something breaks
you will have to have someone fix it etc. etc.
