Better the good guys be protected and safe then the baddies get the advantage. Police go out to do their jobs never knowing if they will be attacked, shot, or beaten...it's good they have these dogs. It's sad that the dog bit into the throat, I havn't heard that as part of their training before. Just the arms and legs.

As I said in the other post regarding this, put the puke down and save the tax payer money on health care and prison. Leave the dog alone it did it's job and did it well. They are, I believe trained to lock onto an extremity but in a struggle even a well trained dog can make a mistake. The fellow was, according to the article breaking the law and not complying with lawful commands there for he escalated things on his own.
