I think I've heard that before somewhere also, a Blackbird means death? I don't really take those things very seriously though.

wow...that's an odd thing to have happen. i wouldn't make too much of an old superstition though. black cats are supposed to be bad luck too, but they're just cats.

hp2 last year the same thing happened to me 3 times. They kept coming in through my fireplace. I freaked also.If you open the door it will fly out. I also heard it was bad luck if thats the case ,I guess I'm doomed. LOL, Oh my mom says its good luck if they fly in and then fly out alive. ( I think she was just trying to humour me)

My mom said the same thing, that if the bird leaves your house alive, the bad luck flies out the door/window with it, so I guess you can say it's good luck.

I hope so. A few days after I was diagnosed with Cancer, my mother had a bird flying around inside her house but it got out alive... and I'm still here.

I wouldn't worry. every spring I have to block my dryer vent and my stove exhaust with mesh, because those birds climb in.

I once found a dead bird while working on this guys duct work.
He was an old European and he just freaked right out when I told him. I knew of the tale but had forgotten all about it. I really felt like crap. I finally commend him down when I told him that it had been there for years so the curse was probably long past.

On another note. I once found a dead duck(duckling) in a duct.
What do you suppose that means?
