Default School agenda prices

Are all the schools charging the same amount? We got school supply lists with report cards in June that said the agendas would be $5.00 come Septemeber. The kids get home Tuesday, and the school is now saying they are $7.00! Sounds like a good scam for either the school or the school board.

St. Pius is covering most of the agenda. All students have too bring in $2 too cover the rest.

my girl's school is only $2.00 and thats just for the grades 5 & up

my son got a free one at his school, and he's in grade 5

sounds like its that school - then again - maybe the agenda's they're providing are top quality?

I think the agendas are a great idea. A little pricey yes but it's a great way too keep in contact with the teacher on a daily basis.

When the kids get in the highter grades, the teachers don't even look at them. I went through that with my middle son last year in grade 7. He was good about his homework anyway.

One thing that burns my butt is the milk program. Gimme a break. What a money grabber that is. Milk is expensive enough. I think my kids can go 7 hours without milk til they get home.

The schools send us these notes about it which is fine, but the way they word it, it's like we are stupid. As if we don't know that the kids need calcium or a healthy start to the day.
My boys drink milk in the morning and at night with dinner. They won't die if they don't have it at lunch time at school.

I have 2 boys in elementry school. Milk is $1.00. So 5 milk x 2 is 10.00 a week and 40.00 a month on milk JUST for school! Ummm not!!! Do you know how many juice boxes I could buy with that? Shakes head.

we got the same note with report cards saying they were $5, my boys came home tuesday and my oldest who is in grade 4 says they need $7 adn my youngest who is in grade 3 says they are $5 i havent recieved an actuall note on this yet so i'm not sure whats going on. i think they are also a good idea however last year when my son first started getting an agenda is was $4 and he got in trouble if it wasnt returned, the teacher even called me a couple times to tell me that it was required for him to bing it everyday. The way i see it if they want to make it mabdatory and consider it part of the curriculum I shouldnt be paying at all and it should be covered by the school or the board. I don't think i should have to pay extra for something that is mandatory through the school.

The agendas at St Ann are $4. Up another buck. There was also a note saying that their was a higher than expected student enrollment and not everyone got an agenda, but the rest were on order. Maybe that's why the price went up. I still find it's alot. That's $8 for my two kids. It's helpful for notes though. I won't be getting crunched up notes at the bottom of the bag.

HM Robbins agendas are $4.00 each. Not bad really. It's a great tool to keep in communications with the teachers and to see what your child is doing daily. Not to mention there are fun little learning things in there too with great tidbits of information.
