Default So that they are without excuse

    The context:

Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
''Our culture has accepted two huge lies: The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear them or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.''

    Modern-day liberalism.

    Can anyone deny that?

People worship the Pope..He is just a man. Did the Bible not say that we should not bow down to anyone other than God?
yet people often kiss the Pope's ring! He is not God, yet people think he is uncapable of mistakes.
I disagree. He is human and therefore not perfect.

Telling followers that it is a sin to use any kind of birth control is just plain wrong. I understand that in the Catholic church only the rythm method of birth control is allowed.
    Why?
Oh yes, having sex with your married partner should only be for procreation. I rather doubt that there are many people who follow that.
people have a right to decide how many children they should have.

I find it cruel that in Catholic teachings, that even if having a child could harm the mother, that the rhythm method or abstinence is the only form of btrth contol allowed by the Church and the pope.

    Pertaining to?

this is what I have been told by many Catholics, including one of my grandmothers.

that using birth control is a sin against God and that the Pope is infallible,,,which he is not, at least that's what the Bible says with regard to worshiping anyone other than God/jesus.

Many Catholics do not really understand their own church's positions because they are nominal members... Attending at Easter and Christmas is not really enough to learn about your church.

There is a difference between honouring the Pope and worshipping him. Secondly, the church does not teach that he is perfect.

Karen, your ignorance about the Pope and the RCC is breath-taking.

I'm going to do you a favor. Here is a link to check whenever you question something about the RCC: http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm

Catholics do not think the Pope is "perfect"; they do not "worship" the Pope.

As for birth control, the Church has indeed taught it is a sin, as it is a contraceptive to the natural order. The natural order is the order created by God, and that order decrees that during intercourse the miracle of human life begins its process (fertilization of the egg). If we believe God created everything, then how can we circumvent one of His biological laws ("natural law") all in the name of sexual gratification?

Would God say, "I want you guys to use sex as a way to procreate and show your love for each other. But, if you can't hold back and really need to get laid, then go ahead and circumvent My plan"

Catholics do not believe you should only have sex to have children, as is commonly mis-believed. But Catholics do believe God provided a type of 'birth control' in the woman's natural cycle.

And, before you go and jump all over the RCC for this view, keep in mind all Protestant denominations held this same view until 1930. Why? Because this view is the view handed down from early Christianity. In 1930, at the Lambeth Conference, the Anglican church opened the flood gates by decreeing some contraception would be allowed in special cases. As with any slippery slope issue, before long full-scale, unbridled birth control was the norm, and other Protestant denominations followed suit.
