Default children's books

I'm looking for something different to read to my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I'm quite tired of the Dora books and so on. Right now, her favourite book seems to be Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Do you have a favourite book that you and your kid seem to enjoy? I'm trying to stay away from the "cartoon related" themes.

The best thing to do is take her to a book store (or library)... look at the books in the kids section, they usually have an age or reading level on the back. Find books that she wants. I still take my daughter to the book store to look for ones she wants... she loves to read and I think that has to do with her getting the choice.

One of my favorite books has always been More Spaghetti, I Say! It is awesome!

the eric carle books - the very hungry catepillar, brown bear, etc. robert munsch - all of his books! the dr. suess (sp?) books are also all very good. my mom was a teacher for 30+ years with the young kids and she says that those are the best ones. the ones that repeat that have a rythmn and are simple.

i think the library has a good selection and even a place to read there thats nice and cozy. you could check out a bunch of them there and see what you both like.

All my 2 year olds book says 5+.

If most of their development starts within the first 3 years, might as well move it along LOL.

My daughter has a bunch of these colour, number and shape books. Shes 2 and can count to 14, knows all her shapes and colours.

    So they do help

You can order from chapters indigo too. I love coles!! You can check out the bestsellers and get an idea of what other parents are reading to their children of the same age.
