How do you heat your house? how do you heat your water? How often does your electric dryer run?

How many other heat producing appliances do you have ( hair dryers, curling irons etc.)

These are the things that will munch the megawatts.

If you use PUC and not a third party energy supplier, you pay the same as everyone else.

I pay nothing for PUC and love it.

Fireplace is warm and boiling water for a bath is awesome with the huge cast iron pot.

Last place we were at we paid anywhere from 120-150 a month. Two story home with basement. Two adults and one child. Lots of electronics in the home. It was oil heat, electric hot water and old appliances.

Just moved into our new home just over a month ago. Should get a puc bill here shortly. It is a 3bd bungalow with basement with electric heat and hot water. All new appliances. Can't wait to see what my PUC bill will be like here.

There is something fishy going on though, I haven't had my heat on at all this year yet, and there was a 80$ increase in my bill already, and the usage hasn't changed from last month.

My PUC is $80.00 approx a month bill just came in. no dishwsher, hardly use dryer, curly lights ,5 TV's not on equal billing. obviously a computer. 1200 square foot home. Never paid more then $80.00 a month since we've owned the house and it has been 4 years. Heat is on. We keep the furnace on allyear round because we use the summer fan on it to cool things down in the summer.

Ours runs $260.00 a month for a family of eight (don't ask). Everything we own is in multiples. T.V.s, fridges, freezers computers, adnosium.

My PUC bill that I got on Friday was $57 for a two bedroom apartment with a livingroom, diningroom, kitchen washroom and hallway.

The heat (electric) has not been on yet this year, but I suspect the increase came from the lights being on sooner in the day. We have two laptops and a pc running, fridge, mini fridge, stove, tv is rarely on.

When I first moved in here on my own the only things running were a pc and lights. I had no tv, fridge or stove for nearly a month (long story) and the bill then was $25, so the slight increase with everything running is of no bother to me.

Impossible. Either your water usage or your electricity usage MUST go up for there to be an increase of that amount to your bill. A leaky faucet/toilet can do it. ... unless of course, you didn't pay your last bill

It gets darker earlier, so guaranteed it is the light usage.

We pay 80$/ mth for the upstairs of a house, just for lights, using energy saving bulbs in every light. Its odd how it was only 75$ when we had an air conditioner on all summer, and its not the heat because there is a furnace. It doesn't seem right to us but we cant figure out why its higher now... lol

Not sure on the square footage, would have to ask the 2nd in command when he's in. But anyways...you know how big our house is, oil heat, dishwasher runs everyday, plus always seem to be doing laundry for our crew of 5, normal useage of pc's, t.v's, etc (take into consideration there's 3 kids here). One 35gal fishy tak, 2 snake dens with heaters and lamps, plus the chameleon with his heat and light. We got our own water so that's not any $$$. Last bill we got (still need to pay tomorrow) was $140.00 (and change). I think we may have ran the furnace a few days last month, now it's pretty much left on. (Hubby's garage power and stuff he uses out there is included in the same bill).

Next month I expect to be higher, usually runs around $180.00 in the winter months. (Still much cheaper than when we had just electric heat (OUCH!!$$$$)
