Shawns Girl.. we have 3 and they feel like a hard bristle brush to pet if there quills are up... when they relax it does not hurt at all... and like seernie said you adjust to it.. YUP you sure do... if there in there ball and you old them and pet them.. its almost theraputic to the hand when petting them....
