    Default Quest Helper and WOW

If anyone here is using QuestHelper I would recommend getting rid of it. My Fiancee's account was keylogged and hacked into yesterday in the early morning. We're trying to get it back but after he did a scan using avast it picked up the keylogger. He knows more about it than me but I just thought I'd let anyone know...

Depends on when you last updated QuestHelper. I haven't updated it since WotLK came out, since I never bought the add-on.

The issue is people using programing to auto update and install the mods.

If you download them yourself, and add them to your Interface/Addon folder your safe.

The LUA files that the mods use, will not cause the issue. They don't excute anything, just just run. They cannot grab your account info as they are only run AFTER the login process is complete. Just stay away from mods that run a .exe file, and don't use any auto updaters.

Thats all you need to worry about.

That would be me. I use wowmatrix, now I'm afraid. I just updated questhelper yesterday. What did you scan with to find it?
update: I just scanned my WOW directory and it came up clean, I used AVG.

Trust me, for the future, never touch an auto mod updater. So far, I've found the best scanner for keyloggers, and that kind of stuff is Malwarebytes AntiMalware. It works like a freaking charm. I've had it clean up a ton of infected stuff before with no problems.

    Give it a shot.
