    Default Renewing Vows

The wife and I are interested renewing our vows next year on our 5th anniversary. When we first got married we had 2 of our friends stand up with us but turns out that the friendships weren't as true as we thought therefore ending. Now that we have new people in our lives that mean the world to us we would love to renew our vows and share it with them. Has anybody else ever done this? Just curious?

TMI, food for thought...how do you know that these new people in your life are worth the honor of standing up with you and your wife? It would seem you haven't known them for very long. Usually a best man/maid of honor, are friends who have been around in our lives for many years.

When renewing your vows, you don't need "witnesses" in the legal sense....why not consider having the most important people in your lives be the witnesses- your children. What a beautiful way to include them, and have the ceremony truly be about yours and your families love.

    Anyhoo....just my thoughts....

Hi everywoman! Actually the new people in our lives were actually the ones that should have been there in the first place. It's just a gut feeling I guess. I understand we don't need witnesses, but I think it's just the sentimental thing.

so... you want to get married again to have "better" people stand up for you? why not just have a dinner. they can spend your anniversary with you!

After eight years we had it redone, I haven't a clue why. It seemed important to my Bride. Happy wife, happy life. 41 years and counting, must have worked, eh?

I've never heard of doing it after such a short time. Not that you can't, it's just normally done after 15, 20, or 25 years, not 5.
I am not merely a mass of molecules, incoherently careening through time and space. I am a child of God, destined for another world, a world before which this one pales in significance. Our spiritual preparation for the next world is to be the priority of this life.

In my opinion the only one standing with you that matters is the one that you put the ring on.

Angel on High and I were going to renew our vows for our 10th anniversary. We discussed it and decided it would be cheaper to get divorced. lol

    LOL!

I won't know the people who are standing up for my wedding. Keebler and I were thinking of asking some drug dealer on the beach to do it for us. hehe
