Where do you find it and how does it feel for you?
Where do you find it and how does it feel for you?
"Feel"?? An interesting concept.
For the Christian, God is and remains his salvation REGARDLESS of how he feels.
Ok, I'll start- Sorry for being so cryptic, heh.
I feel spirituality in a lot of things ranging from simply watching a candle burn, feeling the seasons change, when I send or receive healing, when a storm rolls in and unleashes its power and any time I channel another living thing's energy...
I guess it's just being a part of the collective energy that surrounds us all for me.
I'm not entirely certain whether you find it or it finds you. And there probably as many ideas of what spirituality "is" as there are humans on Earth. For me, it is a firm belief in God the Creator, a belief that all creation carries within it a spark of the divine, a belief that everything in the universe is connected because of that spark. I've had 3 or 4 transcendant moments in my life when I felt that "oneness", the first when I was about 12. Didn't know what it was, didn't tell anybody about it and it was only in my readings as an adult that I came to know what a truly precious gift it was. Most of my spiritual moments occur outdoors when I stop to see and feel the amazing world around us.......how can you look at a night sky out in the country and not be overwhelmed? Even walking on the boardwalk, watching the play of sunlight on the water and feeling the breeze on your face is precious. Being with people at certain moments also provides such gifts......sometimes in the least likely of instances.
Trying to verbalize how how it makes me feel does not do justice to the experience. Suffice to say it makes me feel blessed.
For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies...

Awesome, thank you for sharing that- I appreciate it!!! And you're right in saying that there probably are as many ideas of what spirituality is as there are humans on Earth. That's why I started this thread- To learn what moves people.
Ok now I know what you're looking for....
- I remember a bonfire when I was a teenager, maybe 18 or so. There was a group of us sitting by the fire by the shore over in Brimley. I could look across the water and see the moon reflected there. I went a bit aside from the fire so that the night seemed darker and I could see the sky better. I just sat there, feeling it all around me. A girl came up and we talked and I think she could feel the intense peace in me because, after a short while, she sat beside me very quietly. All we did was just sit and enjoy.
- I remember another time in an August wind storm, I went for a walk as I often do in storms like that. At that time I lived on the beach. I got to the end of my walk and there was a cottage there where they had the stereo up quite loud - the closing bars of Crime of the Century. It just seemed to fit so well.
- The first time I saw my son asleep in his bed. Enough said about that![]()
That's very cool NoCasa- I find it amazing what I can get from a lot of very familiar things I encounter each day.
Yeah it's actually kind of cool. Once you've had those feelings a few times you kind of learn where that 'zone' is, you know?
Yep, I know exactly what you mean...
