I hope this controversy doesnt turn KISS away from coming here. I wouldnt go see them because they dont play my kind of music but a high caliber band such as KISS would boost this city for a few days atleast.

Hrmm i wonder as well, it probably has nothing to do with a band coming to their city, entertaining their people, playing at a city owned venue.

I don't think it will affect them at all, and if it does, it will be in a positive manner.

You need to remember, from about 1974-1977, KISS thrived on this type of attention. It defined who they were.

They love this stuff. It's great publicity.

Politicians, aka reptilians, have absolutely no business in the music industry. Music is freedom and freedom will always prevail! To hell with Ward 2 Councillor Susan Myers! Woooooooooooooo!!!!! As Rick Flair would put it! LMAO

If they ban KISS because of fake blood on stage, then they'll have to ban all gory horror movies that come to our cinemas as well.

I think ms myers should keep her elected mouth shut and let the over 6000 people who have voted to have Kiss come to the Soo do the talking...hey ms myers stick to important issues like our local economy and how you and your comrades can find ways to spend our tax money..unreal...why can't the Soo just once make itself look good instead of making itself look stupid due to its politicians...ie English only..smooth joe's self promotion to cao...etc

LOL Some of you are toooo funny. Ms. Myers may have done you all a favour, and sealed the deal for KISS to play here, and you want to run her down.

As for KISS playing here, ho hum. They were cool when I was 13, had KISS pinups and posters floor to ceiling in my room, and played Destroyer, my first album, to the point it could no longer be played. But I'm not 13 anymore, and Ace left the band. Bo-ring.

Well, you can't blame the entire Sault on one sorry hind christian who doesn't know what's best for her. I must thank her for giving the Sault this kind of attention.

"Fight and you may die. Run and you will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our freedom!"

Apparently you dont know Gene very well. If anything this minor, miniscule, attention seeking drama queen will further fuel the fire for the band to do as they please. For those about to rock, we salute you...

Hi there soonetters, its been a while. I'm in Alberta now but I do still follow the local news. When I read what Coucilwoman Myers said about KISS, it solidified my main reason for moving away from my home....seriously, she's a joke, yet somehow these narrowminded ppl get elected, I won't even start on Rowswell-nope, not gonna say it lol. I'm not a KISS fan by any means, but bringing them to the Sault would be awesome. Anyhow, blah blah, my hope is this. I read that Ms Myers will be a "celebrity server" at Boston Pizza tomorrow, oh how wonderful it be if KISS fans showed up there with full make-up and costumes. Ok, maybe not everyone has the costume, but at least the face paint. PLZ PLZ PLZ fill the restaurant with KISS faces and ask for your "favourite" elected official to serve you, and be super polite and complimentary, just to prove to her that the music doesn't turn ppl into demons. After dinner, compliment her on a job well done and her positive deeds for a worthy cause, then make a small donation on her behalf to the charity in lieu of a tip.

Take pictures and post them here, I'd love to see them.
Always look on the bright side of life!
