Is anyone into Astronomy? I'm a noob who just got my first telescope and I'm looking for some help. I searched the forum and found nothing about it and I'm also not sure if this is the right spot for this (though I'm sure it will be moved if it isn't).

Where are good spots to go? Is there anywhere locally to buy equipment?

I've got a scope. Anything I've bought has been off the 'net. There wasn't anyone stocking much locally other than low end equipment. Mind you I haven't checked in the last 4 or 5 years. These guys http://www.khanscope.com/ are pretty good to deal with(Canadian) as are these guys http://www.telescope.com/control/main/ (U.S.) Where to go? Anywhere it's dark and minimal mosquitoes present! Seriously though, anywhere out from the centre of town is dark enough for decent seeing. I use my scope either at camp or my backyard so I can't really suggest any other areas. Try this site out for reviews tips etc. http://www.cloudynights.com/ If you have any questions I'll try to help. You could also try the local club: Twin Sault Astronomy Club psvalli@shaw.ca | svalli@eagle.auc.ca
