    Default Favourite Summer Activities

My husband and I have been doing lots of hiking this spring, and plan to do lots more. I'm just wondering what everyone's favourite places are for exploring, or what you do for fun in the sun.

Know any great spots that few people know about with nice views? Things like that..

Share any ideas you have for summer fun!

I like watching the females wear less and less. That is my favourite activity.

And about as deep as a bird bath....
I am not merely a mass of molecules, incoherently careening through time and space. I am a child of God, destined for another world, a world before which this one pales in significance. Our spiritual preparation for the next world is to be the priority of this life.

If you hike out at Gros Cap near sundown and find yourself on the top of a cliff, the view is priceless...

This summer for us will be time at camp with family and friends, the pontoon boat and the four wheeler, as much time just being there as we can possibly manage.

we love exploring too. i love the area of the goulais river up by witman damn. you dont need a 4 wheeler to get into most of the spots along the river. we dont fish, but others do in that area. its just so pretty. we 'swim', i guess cool off, in the waterfalls area just off the side of the road. need lots of bug dope now, really pretty in the fall with the colours. look for nice rocks or wood or crayfish.

there are the goulais bluffs at robertson lake. again, its really pretty in the fall. if you hike the bluffs you can go to sil or robertson lake to cool off afterwards and have a picnic. there is an old mine site at sil that some company had or has been expanding last year, but right now there is no one there and its kinda cool to explore. we saw perrigrin falcons out there.

ft. creek and hiawatha are nice too, but in this time of year you can do them on bikes and avoid the bugs.

we do alot of tent camping along superior on crown land. no neighbours, nice and private and just beautiful out there.

there are really nice trails in lake superior park, the sand river trail is nice, the pictographs are really cool too, though not much of a hike. then finish the day with a fish dinner at batchewanna or havaland or somewhere where out there.

last summer we went up by chapleau area to some old ghost towns where my grandparents lived. one still had a few fallen buildings, but the other was totally overgrown, i wouldnt have believed it if i hadnt seen the pictures of it back then. and there are lots of old mine sites around our area to explore too.

Spending as much time at the cottage as possible. A favourite pass time in the Soo is walking on the boardwalk.
