If he was, he would have been long gone from Ward 6.

Yes, it is a shame to see how low the locks have gotten. Parks Canada should be ashamed of them selves.

Exactly, when has the last time you have been there. Its just the one set of stairs that they have blocked off. The other set and on top of the locks are fine. Yes they should do something about the set right by the side of the locks but tourists can still climb the other set and most tourists aren't going to go that way anyway they will drive up to the parking lot.

All around the boardwalk and locks where people fish its disgusting! There are rusty old pieces of metal and garbage. We fish around there sometimes and the litter is horrible! I can just imagine what tourists think when they see all that. They need to do something about it, not just the cracks at the locks.

they should definitely revamp the ENTIRE boardwalk.

through seeing other posts and such. people LOVE to walk it.. why? smells like [censored]. and the only thing to do is go to the lame mall. i got an idea

*allow some vendors to go on the boardwalk (ice cream, hot dogs, sausages.. whatever).
*UNLOCK the pavillion washrooms.
*build a stage out there for live music through the summer. the pavilion is the worst for live music. i played there.. it doesnt sound good and its hard as hell to play in that place due to its echo-ing nature (cement walls and a tent roof... smart)

all the boardwalk does is drive people to go sit in the foodcourt because there is nothing else. the soo doesnt take advantage of what we have. instead they keep boasting about our terrible mall and pointless pavilion. do a HUGE mural on the side of the station mall.. and no not another indian thing. do something fun and creative that shows people that the soo isnt all retired folk. bring some life back to the boardwalk

.. wow i ranted. ok so thats a young person's perspective on it

Why does Helwig want us to flood council with emails and phone calls about it? Why not Tony Martin.

yes it's dumb that they lock the pavillion washrooms, the mall doesn't even have a large public washroom for people to use, and now galaxy has it blocked off so that people not attending the theatre can't use it, I feel bad for parents that have to bring their kids into those nasty mall bathrooms, expecially if they were originally on the bordwalk and either had the choice to go home or to the mall to use the washroom.

I went there twice within the last month or so with my son and i was driving along and my first thoughts were ... hmm i don't even want to be seen at this hell hole... but of course i did so for my son, but it is terrible that this town has allowed such a historical site grow old in disgrace.

All downtown area including the waterfront is just a dump. Nothing there but a ugly smelly SMP and Steel Plant and don't forget the polluted river. Take a drive through the queen st. all you see is garbage all over and cigarette butts.
I don't go downtown unless I absolutely have to.

Even our so called precious bellvue park is a disgusting place to visit and walk around even my son is disgusted with all that poop on the ground and at every inch you walk around the duck pond there is crap everywhere. Who wants to go there and maybe lie down for a leisure stay only to smell like crap and have crap on your shoes.

It should be called "Fowl Poop Park" and have a slogan like "If you need to be crapped on today, no worries crap is what we have"..

Dog park people know it best as they love the smell of the air at bellvue park... whats that smell .. oh its a new deodorant called "Geese On Me" and they have another one coming to market (this is aftershave lotion) called "Seagull Drop Lotion", but the best one to be displayed in the near future market (this is a shoe enhancement treatment) called "Ducks Flounder" (slogan is "Ducks flounder for fragrance, therefore flounder ducks are for you")

The mall has several washrooms for public use. There are washrooms near the Zellers restuarant, there are washrooms beside Hollywood, washrooms in Ubetcha, washrooms beside KeyMan, washrooms beside McDonalds, and washrooms in Sears. They are spread throughout the mall so wherever you are at the boardwalk, its just a quick walk away.
