a few weeks back ,if you are going to be visiting anyone there who will be in for awhile it would pay to stop at the admitting office and buy a swipe card for the gat . I heard that they are around $45 and good for a month, when I used them they were only $33 but it "only" cost $3 to park then.
I have bought those before, but the hospital required you use a credit card for the card, and then the card will automatically be billed to your credit card until you go in, and return the card and cancel the automatic w/d on your credit card.
I don't know if they still require that, it might have changed. But once again, people who can't afford to park there, and don't have credit cards, are really in a bind.
I had to get stitches for my leg, and when I went to the hospital I only carried a toonie on me. I drove up tot he gates, and it was $3, so I had to park on Biggings, and hobble inside LOL.
When my wife was in the hospital on bed rest before having our son, I was in and out of that hospital a good 2 times a day, as well as when he was on NICU, I was in there 4-5 times a day, at $3 a shot!..... It wasn't untill we checked out that they said we could've got hte card.
Now it's $5?
....................
it sucks to have to pay especially at those prices, i am glad i have my parking pass
ya in 03 when my first son was born he was in the nicu, and it wasn't till 2 days into his stay that the nurse told us we could of bought tokens or something to get in and out at a reduced rate.
Aut Viam Inveniam Aut Faciam, which means "Either I will find a way or I will make one."
We bought the card when I was in the hospital having the baby. well worth it. I was in there for a week just hanging out waiting and I walked around and saw the posting that you can get a parking pass. It's on the wall in front of the nurses station.
$5.00 is cheap! Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto is $24.00 a day!

Park at the doctor's building, I always have. $2.00. I had to go there 3 times in 3 days last week. I like $6 a lot better than $15. Nuts!
I am not merely a mass of molecules, incoherently careening through time and space. I am a child of God, destined for another world, a world before which this one pales in significance. Our spiritual preparation for the next world is to be the priority of this life.
you can be ticketed if you park at the doctor's building but don't have an appointment there. If the weather co-operates I park on one of the side streets that have allowable parking areas.
Just a question, but I have heard a lot of people saying how the new hospital is going to have less beds, no full time nursing positions, more private rooms, etc..... If that is true, why spend a fortune and end up with less than what we already have? Does anyone know what is going to happen to the old hospitals, after the new ones open. I really haven't kept up with the news, so if there is a link or people that know about it, could please enlighten me? I wonder if the food services will improve.
Oh, you can bet your butt that someone who's name we are all familiar with already has condo plans for it, or something. You watch, everyone will know the name. Big bucks, I'm sure, will be made. Whether that translates to the hospital or not is another story.
ssshhh! you are not supposed to mention that the new hospital has a smaller capacity than our present hospital and that there will be less staff working at the new hospital. but that is ok, because the private sector partner will makes lots of money and that is good for ontario.
The hospital land is to go back to the Plummer family if/when it stops being a hospital.
