My cat puked yesterday, twice, for the first time too.
it could be from grooming and shedding their winter coats, mine barf all the time, summer, fall, winter, spring. lol
lotta hair comes with the barf, so i figure it is from grooming.

well baby (magic mushroom u remember her lol) is a medium hair cat...so her hair is very thick, but not quite a long hair...and not quite a short hair, so anyway every once in a while she pukes up these hairballs the size of a hot dog! so i bought some stuff for her that has mineral oil in it...give it to her once in a while...
i thought about the shedding but...still, mimi never puked! i thought it was the humidity or whatever...but good to know that my cats arent the only ones lol
winter is so nice...no puking lol
mimi could be grooming baby, hence the hairballs.
my one cat never barfed until i got a little one in the house, and she started grooming him and then the barfing started, not all the time mind you, just here and there.
then i have one cat who is a fanatic and constantly grooming and she is the one who has the most barf episodes.

My cat has always thrown up more when it is humid. He is 7 and it gets worse as he gets older. He has really long hair so he throws up a lot of hair balls as it is (but not as much in winter). When it is humid he gets lethargic and throws up. Poor guy cries like crazy when it is as hot as it is now too.![]()

really eh? weird....
i know over-heating can cause nausea and vomitting in humans, so it makes sense it would make them puke more...
mushroom: mimi does not groom baby...lol
mimi is on my bed all the time and baby is with my daughter or sleeps on the kitchen chair....she is obsessed with my daughter...OBSESSED lol
btw i heard vaseline is good for hairballs....
Vaseline? I never heard of that as treatment for hairballs before. We tried putting something in his food a few years ago for hairballs because he has REALLY long hair but he wouldn't touch his food lol.

You have to put the vaseline on the cat's paw.
They dontlike it there so they lick it off and that's how it gets ingested.
I used to do that periodically for my old cat who had very long thivk fur.
it worked.

My cat doesn't like his paws touched. He was a year old when we got him and he had been declawed and if we even try to touch his paws he freaks out.I could put some on my hand though. He loves to lick people's hands for hours lol.

My dog threw up the other day. I think it might of been the humidity. I got this tube of a mineral oil based brown paste to give my cat to help with hair balls and stuff from the vet. It was 30$.

I got that tube of brown stuff too. It works a charm. My two longhairs urked up so many hairballs I had to do SOMETHING to ease their distress. Got both of them SEVERELY clipped. That was a huge improvement. Then as the coats regrew and the urking started all over, I'd put a smear of the brown paste on their front paws and they would be FURIOUS with me, but they'd lick it off and it pretty well stopped the hairballs.
Freedom may only be a state of mind, but an RV helps!
yep well it is not realy my cat, but it got it for my mom.. anywho he is a long haired manx. He was having horriable horriable hair balls and the over the counter stuff from pet stores didn't work, even though he is brushed daily and well kept he still got bad hairballs. Threw up every time he ate and it was gross. I can't remember the name of the stuff off hand, but i will get the name of it from my mom tomorrow... It really is worth it. I would pay 100$ for a tube if it ment i wouldn't have to clean up cat puke.

yup i got that brown stuff from pet valu on second line
is it ok to give everyday? i thought the directions said just for a few days
I only gave it to my cat for about 4 days and then not again until he started doing the whole hair ball thing again.

right...i give it to her once in a while for a few days...
then stop and re-start again
so far i havent cleaned any puke in a few days![]()

My Paris is the clan' groomer and pukes whenever a ball needs to come upNot all my cats puke but I do see some hair in their pooh sometimes.
Mimi, I wouldnt give too much. It may giver her the runs. Every few days is good. If she eats treats Whiskas makes treats for hairballs that work too![]()
Adopting one pet will not change the world but, it will change the world for that one pet.
