Default Just a vent - Some people shouldnt drive

I was driving up second line this afternoon and some guy was driving like a nut case. He started tailgating this one person and when he had to stop he was like only a couple inches away from the persons bumper. He couldn't even keep his car straight. So I got into the left hand turning lane to turn onto Great Northern Rd and the Jerk got behind me. So he is sitting on my bumper and I was getting nervous. Upon turning onto great Northern he almost hit me not once but almost 3 times. Than he makes his tire squeal. Along that time he almost hit another driver. I was dumbfounded on what to do. This guy could have really hurt someone else. Why can't people drive half normal in this city and think about other drivers?

I usually just slow right down to a crawl when someone is tail-gaiting me. I would rather him hit me at 10kph than 60kph.

Keep right, especially if you are incapable of driving the speed limit. The left lane is for passing, or getting ready to turn left.

Umm ya I was in the proper lane considering I was doing the speed limit and he started in the right lane plus I was going to be turning left onto great northern Road. If I was driving my own car and not someone else's I would have slammed on my breaks and let him hit me. Than he would have learnt his lesson well maybe. There is something completely wrong when you cant even keep the car in between the proper lines on the road.

I don't care what lane it is, people driving should not be tail-gaiting period. I've had them tail-gaiting even in the slow lane, these people are menaces and have no business being on the road. And no I am not incapable of doing the speed limit.

The problem is with people who tailgate you when you're already speeding! I had this happen to me on second line when I was doing 70. I've seen a couple of young hot rods driving around town like this lately (one of them frequently on second line - blue car by any chance?) and one is a yellow motorcycle rider with a death wish. The problem with these idiots is when they take someone else out with them!

BTW - centre lanes were created for people to make left turns not to speed. People have every right to do the speed limit and not be in the curb lane.

No it was a red older car and the guy looked like he was in between his late 20's and early thirties. I try my best to keep on the speed limit. I was told later on today that if that happens again don't be scared to call the cops and report him. It really did freak me out since I was not driving my own vehicle and well who wants to get hit by some jerk? Not me even if I say I was in my own vehicle I would have slammed on the breaks but honestly I probably wouldnt have. that would just make things worse.

By all means if/when this happens again phone. This is my pet peeve all these butt holes who tailgate, what does it get them? When they get to the next red light they aren't any farther ahead.

By the time we got on great Northern rd and up to the lights by Future Shop I finally got rid of him thank god. He got stuck behind a whole bunch of slow moving cars in the right lane. When I headed back up great northern heading back down towards downtown I half expected him to have been in an accident.

If he did have an accident that would be the time to give the horn a little beep-beep-beep , smile, and give a wave, he'll get the message.

that is what I was thinking. The only thing is I would have felt bad for the person that he would have hit.

If he would have gotten in to an accident I probably would have been tempted to stop and talk to the police and tell them what he has already done. lol

We had this kind of thing happen to us on the first night my son had his license. I was very upset by the way this guy tailgated us and what he did. He was revving the truck up, speeding right up to us and slamming on his brakes. I came home and called the OPP. They came and went to the home of this person and raked him over the coals.

Call the police they will address the aggressive driver. Of course getting the plate number is important.

Getting the plate number was a bit hard considering he was only a few inches from my bumper and really hard to see out the rear view mirror to get it. I now have the phone number for the police programed in my cell phone this way if it does happen again I'm going to call.

Me too. Sometimes you want to nail the brakes but you never know if the idiot driving like that may also have a kid sitting in the backseat etc. Slow down gradually, they usually get the hint real quick.
