Im looking for outdoor wedding venues in sault ste. marie and the surrounding area.. ??
I wouldn't do it ......it could rain
im aware of that.... still looking for unique outdoor wedding ideas in sault ste. marie
It took me over a year to find mine for next year...good luck! I just lucked out and the owners of where I'm going are doing me a favor. They don't book weddings after june.
Whats your area limit? Do you plan on having just the wedding or are you making it a weekend event. Really golf courses, pancake(very strict), ski hill, camp wakonda(if your booking 2011), rent a camp, there is a place in bruce mines that does small weddings (some lighthouse place, can't recall the name) Do you lan on having the ceremony and reception at an outdoor location? Are you planning on getting a caterer?
does someone in your family have a nice yard? you could rent those nice big tents and have a ceremony and a come and go right there. thats if you dont want the dinner and first dance and all that, just something different. or even see about bellview (sp?) park - its so beautiful there you could have the tents and food.
My father in law does but hes leary of having people tracking through his house.. I want both the ceremony and reception outside. I was looking into parks but becuase they are welcome to the public, its hard to see whos coming and going with over 150 people. We are thinking of catering, and i've called already and priced out tents and chairs.. but im sure theres some venues that have space outside and we can use their chairs and tables?? This way we can save on the chair bill and tables.. chairs are between 2$-6$, and tables are from 8-11$.. plus chair coverings.. Damn its pricey.. 3.50/ chair.... and a 20x20 tent was 400.00$.. i think its cheaper to buy my own. Maybe i need a wedding planner...
If I was ever to get married again ..it would be at Mackinaw Island![]()
One of our friends just got married and had reception at the bush plane musem.. very cool
also roberta bondar does weddings.. they tent it off.. did you try there Im sure if you contacted the city they maybe will direct you in to the right person for a outside wedding at the park and issue permits for tents.. Just a thought.
it sounds like you have a certain picture in your mind of what you want. do you want a sit down dinner also outdoors? or a wine & cheese sort of thing (though, dont think you can do wine in public)i wonder if you could rent bells point or the ojibway for the day so you could put up tents and serve beer & wine.
another way of dealing with the chairs would be to ask your attendees to bring their own chairs - most folks own a couple of those fold up and carry chairs now. but that would give you a very informal look.
Im having my wedding at bellevue park...
Then my reception at the elks hall
It is soo cheap
the only thing i have to pay for is the hall rental which i get a lower price cause im having the wedding on a sunday
Im bringing my own food which will be cold cuts, salads rolls, deserts and stuff
Just a thought on chairs....do you belong to any sort of group, or church that might donate? I mean, really, who cares what they look like...I had steel folding chairs donated by the Prince Township Hall, for my outdoor wedding. I didn't get covers for them, and they were fine.
Somewhere in a lonely hotel roomthere’s a guy starting to realizeThat eternal fate has turned it's back on himIt's two a.m.
i know a girl who just got married under the Roberta Bondar tent
Also...got vases at the dollar store...with clear marble stones in the bottom. One per table, with a single yellow rose in it. Looked so simple and classy. Get everyone you know to lend you a white table cloth....a low budget is definitely do-able.

We got married at Mockingbird Hill Farm in the white chapel. We didn't have to decorate as it was filled with pumpkins, gourds and corn. We had a small reception in the log cabin as well.
That was one place I was going to add...I think it's one of the more unique ideas around town.
I have seen weddings at the Roberta Bondar Tent and it can get SUPER windy down there. So you have to take that into consideration as well.
If you plan on having lots of people you can rent porta potties for outside(this was on one of my wedding plans!) so your father doesn't worry about people going in and out of his place.
This place meant something to us. It's where hubby and I had our first date. We did the corn maze one evening!
Farmer Bob also said that we could put a tent out back of the log cabin if we wanted but our wedding was very small and we just had a ckae and toast reception in the log cabin. He also rents out the fancy carriage and will have the bride or couple brought in with carriage and horses. The church bell also works on the old church surprisingly well. If you would like to see pictures so that you have an idea. Let me know and I will send them to you!
the new lighthouse out at st joes looks pretty scenic!
