Default February vacation - Where to go?

My husband and I are celebrating 13 year's in March and have decided (our first trip EVER w/o kid's) to go somewhere HOT! We are flying my parent's here to Fort Mac to watch the kid's.

Can anyone recommend where we should go? Preferably drink's included We don't wan't to go on a cruise either.

Website's would be great too. We would be flying from Edmonton.

    Thank's!

Try the website Exitnow.ca. That site shows you all of the different companies and resorts.

We did the Mexico - the Mayan Riviera last year it was FABULOUS!

You could plop down in any adults only sandals and have a good time anywhere in the caribean if you want to see some sights and do some diving St Lucia is very nice,
if you want to walk around feeling like a walking ATM machine go to Jamaica.

Cuba is nice, for an adults only situation check out Cayo Coco and Cayo Largo on a small island off of cuba, quiet, yet you can do a day excursion to see cuba sights as well.

I have family that just got back from the dominican. They enjoyed it. They used aircanadavacations.com. I'm not sure how much they paid. it's hard to find a place that flies from the Sault. They are one of the ones that do. In Edmonton there are lots of flights i'm sure that would go from Edmonton.

well, we are going to do the vegas thing and i think its a good idea. its fairly cheap to fly to and stay in vegas and there is lots to see. we plan to rent a car and drive to LA, actually, hollywood and beverly hills - its only a 3-4 hour drive from vegas. then there is the grand canyon close by, and fire canyon and other places to see. lots to do if you dont like to gamble.

what kind of holiday are you thinking? laying on a beach, all inclusive with lots of drinking, exploring?

My husband and I have been to this resort twice and are considering it again next year with our daughter(9) . it is a large resort , everything included, food is great. Service is great, rooms are great.
    http://www.unofficial-barcelo-maya.com/site/

    http://www.solmelia.com/hotels/cuba/...e-oro/home.htm

The second resort I would recommend even more. Couples only resort, but a more expensive.
go on Tripadvisor and check out the comments people have made about these resorts.
More things to do off the resort (Cancun)if you are brave rent a car like we did or take the bus from the highway. Do lots of research
    Hope this helps.

What other travel sites have Sault Ste. Marie as a departure point? Anybody know?

Wherever you decide to go if you don't mind driving down to Flint and flying out of there you'll save tons of $$$ on the flights.

If you want someplace really hot with some very good beaches and amenities, try Aruba. I haven't been, but friends have and they all love it. I've been to a few spots in Mexico and it's very nice but right now I wouldn't trust the politics / crime etc. there. Beaches seem ok but I've travelled inland and I didn't always feel totally safe.

I've also been told that Turks and Caicos is a great place to go, but again I've never been.

I have been to Vegas and it was fun and extremely cheap. I've also been a few places in Florida and I'd have to say that's my favourite, though it's not always the warmest in winter. I have been to Barbados and that place is awsome.

I wouldn't bother departing from the Soo when I can fly out of the states and save a ton of money.

Cuba is a good bang for the buck, and you could probably get a good all inclusive in your price range.

Flying out of Edmonton, you could probably get some good deals on Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They have some nice all inclusives and it isn't as trendy a tourist spot that it used to be. Cabo and Acapulco are on the Pacific side too, but are usually more expensive. Cancun and the "mayan riviera" are nice, but not the best deals anymore, and there have been some increasing crime problems in the yucatan as of late.
Maybe it's just easier to let you know when I'm being serious.

Try Exitnow.ca - there are a variety of departure sites and it shows all of the tour operators prices. Its a great site. Keep in mind if your flying out of the Soo, Sunwing is the only carrier that fly's direct but its only flying to Cuba this year.

IF you book with Air Canada vacations you fly connector service from the Soo for just over $100 a person return.

We went to the Grand Riveria Princess it was Fabulous, from the nine of us who travelled together there was not a single compliant about the food the hotel or the service.

That is sure no lie. I am booking a trip to Disney at the end of January. So I wasn't too fond of the drive in the winter. First tried the price for flying out of Traverse City and then I tried from Bishop Airport in Flint. Flying out of Flint is going to be $2 400 cheaper!! So that's were we are headed. The flight is really early, around 7am, so we will stay at the Holiday Inn which allows you to keep your car there for 30 days and will shuttle you between the hotel and airport. The average temp in January for Florida is around 15c, so we are not doing the waterparks, which saves us a lot of money too. They have heated swimming pools, so that will be enough for us.
