    last i heard was 70,000 but i say a lot less

    If I remember correctly. 2005 census says 76,000 and change.

    With all the job losses(Algoma Steel from 12,000 to 5,000) I'm surprised it's not more! Plus all the other cut backs in this city.
    I think we're lucky we still have as many as we do.
    With all the new things opening I'd have to say we're on an upswing.
