Default Hey, Boys, We're Up Here!

"Canada's economy fell back unexpectedly in August, despite initial signs that the country was climbing out of recession.

Statistics Canada said Friday that gross domestic product declined 0.1% during the month."

"US stocks rocketed 2 per cent and the US dollar firmed against the yen after the US Commerce Department reported that the world’s biggest economy had grown by an annualised 3.5 per cent in the September quarter, stronger than the 3.3 per cent economists were expecting."

I believe is was one of our resident economic experts, either Hans or Huggy, that declared last month Canada was on a major economic rebound, while the U.S. faltered. As is the case with either guy, simply assume the opposite of what they say, and much more often than not you will be correct.

Nevertheless, here's hoping you guys catch up to us someday.

    Cheers!

And I recall about a year ago when our resident expert on everything, slow, maintained that Canada was striving to have an unemployment rate as low as that of the US.

Canada unemployment rate, from 5.8% in April, 2008 to 8.4% in October 2009

U.S unemployment rate, from 4.9% in April 2008 to 9.8% in October, 2009

"You guys" have got a much deeper hole to dig yourselves out of. Good luck catching up to us.
