    Default MEN

do you feel like you should be rewarded for doing simple things like doing the dishes and laundry or taking care of the kids?

Just wondering because I do that every day and don't expect a reward. Tonight I made cupcakes and ryan sais to me.. Oh your making me a reward for doing the dishes and the laundry and taking care of the kids today? If that is the case then I am owed years of rewards.

There are no men and women jobs. For those who believe there are, don't drag your wife by her ankles after you club her over the head; she'll fill up with mud.

For those living in this world, I have weekend's off, my wife works. I tended to the kids, cleaning the house, dishes, laundry and supper. I don't ask for a reward.

These are things that need to be done. They get done. A clean house, clean kids, happy kids, full tummy, roof over your head, clothes on your back is your reward!

Finally, a woman who admits doing housework and taking care of the kids are simple.

If my husband comes home and the house is tidy, or he smells food, he will pay me a compliment. We each have roles that we have taken on and agreed upon, therefore do not expect "rewards" as such for the things we do in those roles. But...it is nice to get a compliment anyway. It makes me feel good to make a nice home for us, so when he comes home from work and supper is on and he says "wow, something sure smells good in here"...that makes me happy.

In turn, I let him know that I am appreciative of things he does on an everyday basis.

It's not about rewarding ourselves, but of showing appreciation for being a contributing member of the marriage.

That eternal fate has turned it's back on him

Showing appreciation is a validation for your feeling, not a reward. Taking it as a reward, is just like the hot cheerleader saying hi to you in the hallway. Not really a reward, but does make you feel warm and tingly.
