Default Begginings of my Home Theatre

Here's the start of my home theatre...sorry about the poor quality pics, they were taken with my phone cam...

You could kind of make out my vintage Fender Bassman head (1963 vintage) off to the right in the above pic.

That's a 40" rear projection tv in between the stacks. The equipment rack is behind the stacks.

    Subs are Electrovoice TL3512 http://archives.telex.com/archives/E...3512%20EDS.pdf

Low Mids are JBL 4560 cabs loaded with JBL K140. These are two of the 4 cabinets that used to hang from the ceiling around the dance floor at the Canadian. I have the other two empty cabs in storage.

    High-mids/highs are Electrovoice SH-1810H http://archives.telex.com/archives/E...H-ER%20EDS.pdf

Subs are powered by a Crest CA4 in bridged mode resulting in 750 watts to each sub.

Low mids are powered with an EV 7300, resulting in 200W/ch to the JBL's. The 4560 cabinet's horn loading adds 6dB to the raw 15's sensitivity making these very efficient cabinets that get LOUD from 200Hz and up with very little power.

Hi-mid/highs are powered with a Harman Kardon Citation16. Min 165watts/ch@ 8 ohms. Again, horn loaded cabs and tweeters make for efficient use of power.

    Next improvements and additions:

I will be replacing the EV subs with better JBL units (JBL 2242, same as what you hear watching a movie at Galaxy in the Station Mall) in better, more solid cabinets. Then the subs will be each powered with a bridged Crest CA6 resulting in 1200 watts to each sub.

Addition of the center speaker powered off a mono 150 watt Altec Lansing amp

Addition of surrounds (JBL JRX112M) powered off a BGW250 (250w/ch)

Resulting in total system power of 3700 watts.

Did I mention my rec room is only about 12' by 28' with a 7 foot ceiling?

What's to explain...a bridged CA6 on each 8 ohm sub...two CA6 amps, two JBL subs.Crest CA6 is 1200 bridged into 8 ohms. You missed my typo in the OP though...the current subs are in parellel to a bridged Crest CA6, not CA4, presenting the amp with a 4 ohm load.

Me dumb. Missed the fact that there's TWO CA-6 amps.
