The Sault College first year Social Services Worker Native Specialization class and the Social Services Worker graduating class of 2010 class are hosting a poverty awareness rally, called Making Poverty History, on Thursday, April 8th beginning at 11:am at Vincent Place, 222 Albert Street E. There will be food, prizes and guest speakers.

The media has been invited and invitations have been sent to Ontario Works, Social Housing, The John Howard Society and most other social agencies and groups in the community to attend and show support.

Community leaders and representatives such as the MPP, MP, Local Chiefs, and the Mayor and council have been invited to speak to the situation and describe their commitment to transform the poverty situation in the area. Hopefully they will do more than speak about
it's implications and impact on the community, but also shed some light on what they intend to do about it.

The invitation is extended to all individuals and groups in the area, who feel that attention needs to be brought to the poverty issue.

Hope to see every one there!
