Is anyone aware of any program that helps defray the cost of one of these dogs for someone on a disability pension?

You might check with CNIB. I know they fund some things.
I wish there was a pets forum here
this is one of those things that fall between the cracks as according to the lady she checked with them but they don't. but thanks anyways.
It might be worth looking into the Assisted Devices Program. I know a dog is not a device but they may cover it. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/...dp/adp_mn.html nothing that I can see on eye dogs but you never know?
When I make up a lie and can not back out of it, I will just say I am leaving town for a funeral and that should cover up the lie.
Self-laudation abounds among the unpolished; but nothing can stamp a person more sharply as ill-bred.
If you can't feed them, don't breed them!
good idea
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/...dp/notcov.html this is the not covered section and I don't see anything about seeing eye dogs so may be worth a shot?

Seeing eye dogs are not pets. They are dogs with jobs. I think there's a big difference.
very true, one only has to watch one work to be totally amazed by them.
