Default Whitefish Island - Testing New Lens

I picked up a used Nikon AF-S 70-200 f/2.8 VR1 lens recently, and gave it a test spin out at Whitefish Island this week. Even used, it cost a pretty penny, but I think it was worth it. Here are a few photos that I've taken with it so far:

    Wood Duck

    Red Squirrel

    Red-Winged Blackbird

    Mallard Duck

All of these photos, as well as others, can be viewed in larger sizes on my Flickr site at: http://flickr.com/bjotoole

Thanks NewCasa, I appreciate it. But I'll pretend I didn't see the jab at Nikon, lol.

Verotik66, I've only been out a few times with it, but I'm afraid I've already become addicted to 'Pro' glass. I'm already dreaming of my next lens... Perhaps that new Nikkor AF-S 200-400 f/4 VRII. My wife is going to shoot me now for sure, haha.

Yeah I'll admit it - I checked out that lens online. Very impressive specs and excellent results. I just don't know if I could bring myself to pick up a Nikon. It's not the equipment - that's pretty good stuff, but the company is nasty.

Wow, that's an insanely large lens. Wonder if you can shoot hand-held with it, lol?

You can - that's what the handle's for. If you see a sporting event on TV sometimes they give a shot of the photographers' pit and you see that pretty much all of them have lenses like that one.
