    Default 2 dresses....

So has anyone ever got married and had 2 dresses? How did you do pictures... did you do formal pictures in both dresses or just do the formal pictures in the church dress and then have the more candid pictures in the reception dress? Or just say screw the dresses and show up in jeans and t shirt....

While I have not done the two dresses thing I do think that you would do your formal pics in your wedding dress right after the ceremony and then you would change into your other dress and just do whatever pictures in that one.

my church dress feels like it weighs 30 pounds. just trying it on for fitting in an air conditioned store made me want to die. I don't konw how i am going to do it standing in it for hours. so i needed a lighter dress that didn't weigh 30 pounds. I need to find fans or something to wire under my dress and blow up it.

I had my expensive wedding dress for the ceremony and for formal pictures. After the first dance, I changed into a nice white dress for comfort. At that point it was just pictures from the people in my reception. I didn't care to have more professional pictures done. The veil also came off with the wedding dress and I just kept the veil clips in.

Is this something new wearing two dresses? Wow, your wedding day is so special and at the price of wedding dresses and hopefully you are only wearing it once lol, I would want to wear it for as long as the day and evening lasts. Even if it is heavy, it is your only day to shine, so wear it as long as possible I say.

When my aunt got married (11ish years ago) she had 2 dresses as well. She had her gorgeous white wedding gown that she wore until after the "formal dances" were done with and then she went and changed into a beautiful deep red velvet dress for the rest of the reception. I thought it was a fantastic idea and the pictures with either dress were spectacular!

On my wedding day, I had like three outfits; one for the wedding, one for the afternoon spent on the beach, and the third was the dress I wore to dinner.

Of course, we were in Jamaica getting our asses burned to a crisp. LOL

On that note, I would go with a lighter dress as a wedding dress. Always. I couldn't imagine trying to get my rear into a big, bulky thing that weighs more than a toddler.
