    Default Anyone tried VibroGym?

I've been considering it as an option as my lungs don't permit me to attend a regular workout gym. I've been trying to do some research on it and it may or may not be an option as my meds are on their no-no list.
Has anyone tried it? If so, tell me about it.

It's low impact, and apparently works all of your muscles, ones that you forgot you had. It's a vibrating platform that you stand on and hold certain positions. The recovery rate from exercise is much faster and it's recommended for people who have low bone density/osteoporosis and other conditions. It's been very popular in New Zealand and Europe and has made it here. Apparently you go 3 times a week and for about 15 minutes each time. From what I've read so far, it has helped people with debilitating injuries, arthritis, and helps improve balance and movement. Sometimes weight loss is also a bonus.
I'm interested because I need something that isn't going to cause my lungs to freak out as I'm limited in that area.

My wife goes and works out on the vibrogym 3 times a week. She really enjoys it but she is really sore for the next 2 days. They only let you go no more than 3 times aweek. She has some health issues that she is dealing with but she is going. It is a vibrating pad that you stand on to do some low impact exercises like squats and crunches. Thats about all I can tell you other than I know it works because she has lost 8 incs in 4 weeks and she looks great. Hope this has been helpful for you.

Thanks geohound, it's nice to know it does work. I have health issues too and really not sure if they'll let me go.
From what I found, they had a beginners session for about 9 weeks so that the body adjusted to the vibration, then they started the other positions.
Hey Tippi, it's on Great Northern Road in one of the malls, their sign is kind of a <<VG>>.

    Hi...We do have the vibrogym.

Women are getting AMAZING results on this machine. It really is something you have to try to see. 17 3/4 inches in 4 weeks, 8 inches in 2 weeks, etc., Plus all the side benefits.

And we also have monthly options, 10 session packages and a per session price. Come in to find out all the details. There is a option for everyone! Don't worry. We'll make it work for you financially!

But like I said, you have to try it first (you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first right!) Come in and we'll give you a 2 week pass to try out the centre.

And if you don't know where we are, we are behind Leon's furniture on Second Line

I'm going to have to make some time and go into these places and discuss the options and some of the contraindications for use. I read that you should not use the equipment if you are on cortocosteroids, ie: Prednisone. I need to find out why and how long they want you off of the medication prior to accepting you.
