    Default physio...

Anyone know of any physiotherapists who will bill insurance companies directly instead of having to pay upfront and then submit to insurance companies?

LS physio is the one my husband has gone to. Highly recommended by both our chiropractor and my massage therapist, and where he was referred by our nurse practitioner. IIRC, we only paid the difference between our insurance (they submitted to insurance) coverage and what they charged. It wasn't much. They billed us, or he paid when he went in, every few visits.

Our insurance only covers 90% of the visit but the place i was going to go charged 40$ a visit.. so 40$x3 time a week plus babysitter was a little much for me and I had to pay upfront and then submit everything to insurance. I called ls physio and have an appointment there. I will try it there and see how it goes. Hopefully not to painful. I don't like pain.

Usually your insurance company determines how they would like costs submitted, not the physiotherapist's office.

Giggle, I *think* my husband had to pay about $10 a pop. I'm sure the amount will vary based on your insurance. And keep receipts for what YOU had to pay, they are deductible on your tax return, along with meds, dental, chiro, massage, etc.

I remember Austin when he worked in physio at the hospital. One of the best! My dad loved him. Once when Dad was in and he was complaining about something, I told him what he should do and he kinda just had a "Ya,OK" response. Little while later Austin came in and Dad asked him the same thing. Austin said virtually word for word what I said and Dad acted like God had spoken. I said " I told you the same thing!" Dad:"But you're just my daughter!" Austin was cracking up.

Yes Austin is very funny. But he is excellent at what he does. When my neck was sore I went to a chiropractor I will not name. He put a vibrator on it and I had 4 treatments. When I could stand the pain no more I went to Austin. After my 5th treatment Austin looked at me and said, "This will get better". I think the rough treatment you had before probably made it worse."

some places bill the insurance directly, some make you pay upfront and then submit receipts to the insurance company for reimbursement. Like if i get my prescriptions at a&p or zellers pharmacy i don't pay a thing. if I get them at shoppers pharmacy for example I have to pay the price of the prescription and then submit the receipts to insurance for a reimbursement. not all places will submit the paper work for insurance for you.

Lake Superior physio is very good. I've been there many times...as have some of my family. They bill my insurance company and then send us a bill once a month or whatever. But my dad's been going there for 30 years or so..
