I use BMO, and they are super. I also deal with TD and have had no problems. RBC was cool, but CIBC was the DEVIL! seriously, Satan reached up from the bowels of hell, took out a loan and decided to build a bank on Earth, he called it CIBC. It's in the Bible. I think they have company picnics involving kicking puppies.

ALL banks charge you for cheque cashing if you don't have an account there. I have dealt with Royal Bank, scotiabank and CIBC for various reasons in the past and will gladly stick with TD Canada Trust. They have been wonderful and very reliable for me.

This is not true. I sold something the other day and the guy wrote me a cheque drawn on an RBC account. Due to the amount of the cheque I went directly to his branch to cash it as I did not want it to bounce. They cashed it no charge with two pieces of ID.

A little known fact till you turn 60. TD Canada Trust does not charge any fees once you turn 60! All my banking, and all my transactions are free. Maybe the other chartered banks are the same.

We used to be with PC Banking, but it drove us nuts with the limits they put on our withdrawals. Don't know how many time we had to call them to increase the limit for a day so that we could buy a car. Getting a certified cheque is also a pain.

the only hours that are a problem is the hours you spend standing in line, more than 1 person in front of you, you will be there at least 20 minutes...its nuts, just closed my account there because it was too time consuming.
BMO is good, I deal at TD and have for many years with no problems...the Scotia thing was supposed to be for convenience which it was not.

Also if you maintain a minimum monthly balance they waive your banking fees. I haven't paid any fees in years.
One can be a true believer in anything: psychic ability, Christianity or, as Bertrand Russell classically suggested (with irony), in the fact there is a teapot orbiting the earth. I could believe any of those things with total conviction. But my conviction doesn't make them true. Indeed, it is something of an insult to the very truth I might hold dear to say that something is true just because I believe it is. ~Derren Brown
