    Default Cheapest Tire place?

We are looking for winter tires for our van and we were wondering who the cheapest tire supplier is? We have heard Total tire is the cheapest any other suggestions?

cheap as in quality or cheap as in price? It depends on the size and brand of tire. But why would you want to cheap out on a key safety feature for winter driving???

Cheap on price obviously. Because I still have to pay out my arse but even 10 bucks cheaper is still 10 bucks cheaper? Why does anyone want a better price? Cheaper doesn't have to mean dangerous...

Check prices at GCR. I had some good deals there.

Walmart will be cheapest both in price and quality. Total Tire on Bruce St will be the best bang for your buck though.

Is a tire for one third less, that lasts half as long, a good deal??

Even the tire manufacturers are against CT too soundbear? It's not just the parts manufacturers?

Since you feel so strongly would you like to buy me some tires? I fail to see how asking for a place with low prices gets such ridiculous answers. I am sure you have never bought a single thing on sale in your lifetime.

Anyways, CT has them for 79.99 a tire, which isn't too bad. My fiance is going to go and look at the 2 other places before we settle.

Interesting question. To answer it, you'd have to check a few assumptions. First, what is the life expectancy of the more expensive ones? How long will you be keeping the car? (If you're only keeping the car another year, why bother worrying about life expectancy of the tires?) Also, say you invest the difference in cost, what is your rate of return?

Tough question SB. Very tough. Certainly difficult to answer given the amount of data provided here. Maybe it's a question we should leave up to the original poster, what do you think?

And I suspect I'm a licenced mechanic (two actually) who is also licenced to drive anything on the road, and who, over 40 plus years, has bought a tire or two.

I prefer tires NOT supplied by the lowest bidder.
