    Rough idea here.

Jobber cost on a part is 50 bucks. Trade price to the garage is 75 bucks. Part at CTC (maybe lower quality) 80 bucks. garage sells you the part at 100 bucks. Net saving if you buy your own part 20 bucks.

Can the garage hide 20 bucks in your bill somewhere??

    Easy.

Oh, and by the way, if it fails who do you think holds the warranty???

    You do.

only way the part would fail is if it's a genuine GM part

    That would be a sarchasm.

I suspect that you just might be like my brother in law.

He blew a transmission 35 years ago and has been terrified to pull a trailer ever since.

You musta had a part fail, and it's ruined your life forever.

Here's an interesting little bit of trivia. New parts have a higher failure rate that used parts.

I'll never buy a rebuilt motor from you!
...that is just wrong on so many levels.

Didn't you know that, Jack??? It's absolutely true!!!

A used part has already proven in service. A new part has not.

Please note I'm not saying anything about life here. Total life expectancy is the same for both parts.

And re-built motor, done properly will EASILY outlast new. Not cheaper however!!!

Ha, ha, ha...if I didn't know you better I'd say, "put the pipe down Dude"!
How about a link on that?
I love the way you try and help people, but your statement is wrong plain and simple!
Don't get me wrong, I have used the yards in town when I need to, but come on, better?
That is quite a part conspiracy you got going lately.
How about the new Dodge trucks tie rod ends?
I'm told they should throw a set in the glove box of a new truck cause it will need them 15,000k down the road and you want to use an old one?

    A rebuilt motor?
Rebuilt of course with used parts; that is what you said!
To rebuild with NEW parts would contradict what you originally said.
Come on SB give it up!
