That is my concern. We put our garbage and recycles out tonight. I'm not worrying about my boxes flying away they are heavy enough. I'm just worried about the contents blowing all over.

My power was out for about three hours last night, damm its hard reading with a brim light...
The thought of this becoming a storm like the night the Fitz sunk is scary. I was on my way to Sarnia that night, they closed the Mackinaw bridge for a few hours, when they finally let us across we watched a transport flip over onto a car opposite us in the north bound lane. Pretty scary at the time.

the tree across the street from my nouse snapped about 30 min ago and hit my kids bus and a few other cars on the way down. It got caught up on the power lines so it didnt fall across Second Line. PUC is out there right now taking it down. Also the traffic lights at the corner of second line and goulais are bent in the wrong direction.

Yeah, we had a brand new house out in Goulais, and my parents were up on the roof, nailing down plastic, because our shingles were flying everywhere. It's the only storm I remember being afraid of.

A tree snapped at the roots and punctured my shed roof. I somehow forgot about garbage day so the deck box, with all my recycling, blew halfway across the deck and was flipped over. :-( I'm grumpy.

Don't know whereabouts in Goulias your cottage is (but I'm guessing near the water! lol). East side of Goulais was windy, some power outages, but not too bad. I heard there was a tree down on the powerlines on 552 east this am, but missed seeing it as I was already gone to work. Don't know if that helps you!

have you seen how big this storm is on satellite??? anything that covers several square thousand of miles would be considered "monster storm" by the way, the peek winds will probably arrive around noon to 4pm today...

We have a fence gate that usually doesn't stay closed so hubby tied a bungee cord around it to keep it shut. The wind was soooo strong it snapped the bungee and broke it. Take a lot of force to do that.

One of my big gates that lead into a laneway broke, a piece of metal trim ripped off my house, and a ceiling tile INSIDE my house at the front door moved. I also had to go get my recycling boxes way down the street, and pick up a bunch of broken glass and cans.
I am not merely a mass of molecules, incoherently careening through time and space. I am a child of God, destined for another world, a world before which this one pales in significance. Our spiritual preparation for the next world is to be the priority of this life.
