Is anyone going through their insurance?
If so is it worth it or just pay someone to get them repaired.
Thanks

Don't put a claim in unless your house burns to the ground.
Yes we are going through our insurance. My deductible is 1000$ and to repair it ourselves would be over 4000. Also something hit our window and broke it and the gate was ripped off the fence from the wind and the down spout on our house was also ripped off. So we are getting probably close to 8000-10000 in repairs for 1000 deductible.
My parents are also going through their insurance the sofit and fasha on their house was blown off.

Not enough to make me worry. It definately won't go up enough to make up or cost more in the end. besides my insurance is every year we don't put in a claim it goes down 10%....we have never made a claim in 12 years I have owned my house so I'm not worried.

Does the insurance not call this an act of god. They do in the states. Some friends of mine had terrible damage and the insurance called it an act of god.
If you've not used your insurance before this you should only loose your "claims free discount"
Most people have a 5 or 10% discount, so you'll pay that difference come next renewal, BUT if you have another claim too soon you'll find yourself in a heap of trouble. Insurance company's don't want to pay more than one claim in 5 years.
Attitude is contagious - is your's worth catching?
The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge..
Make peace with your past, so it wont spoil the present
I do not believe in god, so they can't ding me for act of god. My insurance covers Wind and Flood. But at a $1000 deductible. I thought it was silly to get hurricane and tornado insurance, but i'm sure that'll bite me some day hahahahaha

Act of God.......is not in any insurance language...read your policy......ive read mine and no mention of God......
unnatural meaning burglary, vandalism. That is not a natural disaster.
