    Default Internet Download Speeds

When I go to speedtest.net, it indicates that I have a download speed of 61 Mbps. Using Shaw's tool at speedtest.shaw.ca, I get a more realistic reading of 3.9 - 6.9 Mbps. What gives?

Also, do you think I would notice a difference in streaming video quality from sites like ctv.ca if I went to Shaw Extreme? I currently have normal Highspeed with them.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 video card with 1GB RAM.

    Thanks.

Q-1. It's because Shaw's speedboast screws up speedtest sites.

Q-2. No. Most streaming video streams at a fixed speed, about 250Kb/sec. Well below the download speed you already have.
