Kaleb Schwade

Not sure how many of you remember the story of Kaleb Schwade. He is the little guy who was shaken by a daycare worker back in 2007, and basically became in a vegetative state. A lot of people from here bought bracelets from me that was for raising awareness of shaken baby syndrome. I remember being totally wrapped up in this story because my youngest is the same age, so it was close to home. Anyway, I just learned that he passed away this Monday. I thought that anyone who followed the story might like to know. Here's a link to a video of him before and after.

I was always wondering how Kaleb was doing. I wonder if it ever went to court?

That is so sad. Super Gram the babysitter pled guilty. RIP Kaleb.

Yeah, she did, but her sentence was peanuts. Because of how much time she spent in jail before she entered the guilty plea, she was eligible to be released immediately. Kaleb was born on my birthday, and died on my son's birthday (the who is Kaleb's age).

She got 16 months in jail, was sentenced in June of 2010 but had been in jail since February of 2009 so was able to get out as Jackie said due to time served.

Sooo sad!! I remeber keeping updated on her site to see how things were going.. Her son was born a year after mine and that was one of the big reasons I'm a stay @ home mom! Super sad!!
