    Cool Another Cuba Thread.

    I am going in March!!!!
    I am so excited.
My question is regarding pricing and where too book? I went to the agent in the mall and it was very expensive. I am thinking I might get a better deal booking myself. there are so many places to look though. Its overwhelming.

Where do you all book your travel? I am very new to this. The last direct flight from here to cuba is march 18th from what I understand.

Where is a good reliable site to reseach my upcoming and much needed adventure?

    expedia.ca
    itravel2000.com

I have used both, I will say that searstravel does basically price match. You tell them or print it out and they will price match I know they did with me. You can also go direct through sunwing

My husband booked our trip to Cuba thro Air Canada, not a bad deal. We leave at the end of March from the sault to Toronto then to Holguin. We are staying at the Luna y Mares. Great price for the two of us. Nice resort, includes transfer to resort, food is excellent and the beach is one of the best we have found in our travels. pm if you want further details. He booked it online thro their site

Last year we waited until 4 days before we left and booked because it is so much cheaper to book last minute. We went through Selloff. They don't have an office in town anymore so it through Thunder Bay. They were just over $100 cheaper then what the Sunwing website was. We are going again in March and will be booking through Deb at Sell off again!

We went to Sandals last year.. was THE best- this year we are going to Melia Las Antilas or something like that for a wedding March 18th... book either 3 or 4 star.. the direct flight was worth it for us..

If you book through Air Canada Vacations your flight from the Soo to TO is only just over $100 return.

If you book through SunWing you fly Direct from the Soo.. I don't know how much cheaper it is if you wait for a last minute from the Soo, but IF you can get to Toronto on your own, you can do a week in Cuba for CHEAP!!! BUT getting to Toronto is the issue for most people.

When we went last year we went to Serinis la Salina (sp?) and for 2 adults and 1 child it was $2300 tax included out of the Soo. Our friends booked in January and they paid $2100 per person from the soo. It is far cheaper but you run the risk of the plane being full so you have to have a good travel agent that will ensure that will keep checking how many seats are left on the plane.

We booked through the vacation place in the station mall. I wouldn't want to wait til last minute because our travel agent said they were booking up real fast. It didn't cost any different to book with a travel agent than if I had of done it myself.

Check out tripcentral.com From Toronto: 5 Star, Occidental Royal Hideaway in Cuba for March 20th is selling for $1052 including tax this week! (for two different departure dates in March) That's pretty good for a 5 star, even if it involves getting back and forth to Toronto.

I like tripcentral.ca because they always include the taxes in their prices.

If we are flying out of Detroit to a destination, I usually use bookit.com

Anyone book a wedding in cuba? My daughter is looking at getting married there next spring maybe and need to know the rules; regs and good tips etc. I know you have to have proof of extra out of country medical insurance when you go.

My best friend is having her wedding in Cuba coming up in March... they have a wedding co-ordinator through the resort that informs the bride and groom of what they have to do... the travel agent should be able to give you some pointers too.. after the wedding happens, I could give you some tips

We are going in April to Blau, This week we bought our luggage, and outfits since right now all the summer stuff is starting to come out. Plus I want to make sure by packing early we wont forget much.

I'm not sure how much you can bring so we are packing light but I think I was told it was 40 pounds? I could be wrong but i need to check with our agent.
