In our riding, the liberal lost to the Conservative by about 37 votes. Recount.

I wish it had been liberals here. I kind of was leaning towards NDP but they just annoyed me way to much this election and it felt like harassment. But I do like the values and new ideas Provenzano could have brought, to bad he didn't have the opportunity to do so.

No not kidding....we need new fresh ideas and that comes from someone who hasn't done the same things over and over again. He has the ability and know how to do things differently. Its like the saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks, some of these politicians are so stuck doing things teh way they have always done it that they cant' see outside the box, a fresh new light on things would be nice. But it doesn't matter Provenzano didn't get in, but after yesterday I was so mad I didn't care who got in so long as it wasn't martin.

I don't think a lawyer is going to have freah ideas, that's all.

Hayes is new, and (i stand to be corrected) I don't think he's a lawyer.

Yes hayes is new but he is old. Our city did very well when Carmen Provenzano was MP we elected him atleast 2 times I was out of town I don't remember if there was a third. But he did us proud.....I am aware of Christian Provenzano and like what he stood for and who and yes I think he has fresh new ideas. How many of the politicians are lawyers.....? so you can not really hold that against him.

Oh and I don't like Conservatives period I don't like their platform at all and I don't like who they stand for so I didn't want to vote for them, I somewhat like teh NDP platform but didn't think that they would give teh conservatives any competition and didn't think they would have a chance of running the country, I thought Libs were the most likely the ones to overthrow the Cons so I went with them.

Personally I think more people would have voted Lib if it had been someone other than Ignatief leading them.

Personally I think Provenzano had the best campaign locally, but the entire country rejected the party leader. Honestly, the Conservatives 'working on the economy' didn't mean much to me as they haven't done anything for the economy other than spend tax dollars on projects. Perhaps you could say rejecting cap & trade is good for the economy, but that about it. Spending on stimulus projects is a pretty short term solution to the economy.

Koss I agree with you..like I said he stood a better chance of winning had we had a different liberal leader running. I think the country basically voiced that same opinion. I don't remember when NDP out voted liberals, on a federal level.
