    Question Spruce Haven Zoo.....

Just wondering if any of you guys know what thier rates are? I checked online, and called them but couldnt get any info. Hoping to take my little ones, my 3 yr old has been bugging to see a bear. haha We did a bunch of dumps runs in the spring and he was utterly disappointed that we saw no bears. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thx in advance

I realize its sad that they are caged, but perhaps you don't know that they weren't caught in the wild. All the "wild" animals they have were labeled "non-releaseable" they were all either abandoned babies that had to be hand fed/ animals born in captivity/ or injured animals that could no longer fend for themselves. At least to my best of my knowing. I also inform my kids of this. They are well aware that animals belong in the wild. I don't even allow them to catch frogs at camp. We "observe" nature lol
My kids think im nuts....I do appreciate what you're saying as I have the same standpoint, but the kid wants to see a bear, I'll show him a bear. LOL

I wouldn't take my kids to see that, but that's just me.
Probably about $8 to $10 per person if you go.
    I agree.

That place makes me so sad. I really do feel for the animals. Not the greatest place at all.

That's very true. I remember my parent's taking our old dog there for a hair cute. We ended up changing groomers because he was so scared to be there and then the surroundings on top of it. Kind of a nice idea, just wish it was done a bit better.

omg I almost cried.....I was very clearly very niave (sp) about how these animals are kept....I mean, they COULD pull it off, they just need to re-arrange thier fencing. They have 2 yaks in a 10 acre feild and a bear in a 12x12 cage....WTF. Give the bear an acre of trees????? Man that was BRUTAL. never again until they re-vamp.
I was also molested by a goat....AND it ate my skirt LMFAO

He paced up and down that fence the entire time we were there, and likely the better part of the day.

Ya, I dont take my kids there. I can't handle visiting, to me its like taking the kids for a visit to the human society. Not a happy place. I dont go to the circus either.

I hate the circus also, that place is even worse. Those animals live in trucks for god sakes, and are treated cruelly to preform stupid tricks for mindless idiots to chuckle at.
This cage that the bear lives in is smaller than my dog run!!! Thats the part that really stuck....They need to apply for funding. I'm pretty sure if they played thier cards right they could land a gov't grant to re-fence all that area. It could be a wonderful tourist attraction, and safe for the animals at the same time....

Did the animals commit a crime? Murder, rape, beating the elderly, breaking and entering? Not the same thing.

Where the hell was there any mention of that? Im talking about the constant threads from the 40k elitists who would rather see those downtrodden be further stomped into the ground and treated like ****. Just look at the constant threads ****ting on those on any form of gov assistance or looking for help ect.

Well its not the people are in a cage either. They can YA KNOW get a job or move out west......whatever it is your ranting about. It is sad. Quite frankly these animals are living in a cell and have done nothing to deserve it. Man is an UGLY creature of many names and characters with many RIGHTS....these are simple creatures....

But yea I'll admit it.....if a man and his dog were similtaneously hit by the same bus at the same time....I'd definately go for the dog first. For fear that the person was a whacko, or tried to sue me afterwards for attempting to help him...or worse. While I can be sure the animal would at least be grateful.....
